iPhone Email configuration

Steps to add your Tela email account to iPhone / iPad.
Please follow all steps to insure correct operation.

  1. Open the Settings App (gear icon on home screen)
  2. Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
  3. Tap "Add Account"
  4. Tap "Other"
  5. Tap "Add Mail Account"
  6. Enter your name, email address & email password
  7. Description can be your choice such as your email address
  8. Tap "Next"
  9. Select your account type at the top.
    NOTE: We recommend using IMAP unless you prefer to use POP
  10. Under "INCOMING MAIL SERVER" enter:
    • host name: mail.tela.com
    • user name: (same as your email address)
    • password: (email password, should already be filled in)

    Note: These settings are required despite the Optional designation.

  11. Under "OUTGOING MAIL SERVER" enter:
    • host name: mail.tela.com
    • user name: (same as your email address)
    • password: (email password, should already be filled in)

  12. Tap "Next". iPhone will verify your account settings. If you get an error message, please review your settings to make sure they are correct.

    NOTE: Please use http://tela.com/webmail to verify your email address and password if you are receiving an error. Refer to http://tela.com/help/#settings for additional settings and port numbers.

  13. Tap "Save"
  14. Tap the account description you set in step 7 to edit settings for this account
  15. Tap your email address shown under IMAP and Account
  16. Scroll down to "OUTGOING MAIL SERVER"
  17. Tap "SMTP mail.tela.com >"
  18. Tap "mail.tela.com On >" under PRIMARY SERVER
  19. Verify these settings, making sure to set the Server Port to 587:
    • Host Name: mail.tela.com
    • User Name: (same as your email address)
    • password: (email password, should already be filled in)
    • Use SSL: ON
    • Authentication: Password
    • Server Port: 587
  20. Tap "Done"
  21. Tap "Advanced" to review advanced settings (usually only needed for POP)
    If you are using POP mail verify that the "Delete from server" setting matches your needs.
    If you are not sure, select "Never".
    The default Incoming Settings port numbers should not be altered.

    Tap the account name at the top left to go back to the account settings
  22. Tap "Done"
  23. Tap "Settings" at the top to go back to general settings
  24. Push the home button to go back to the home screen
  25. Open the Mail App
  26. The new email account should be shown under "Mailboxes"
  27. Tap the email account description you set in step 7 to enter the mailbox. You can access the inbox directly or all folders from this screen.
    If you receive an error message, please review ALL settings to make sure they are correct.
